Short Guide to Buying Property in Montenegro
Once you decide to purchase a property in Montenegro the process is quite straightforward.
The steps involved are as follows:
- With your input will negotiate an acceptable price and verbally reserve the property
- We will then introduce you to a reputable lawyer who will draw up the contracts (a draft contract where the full amount is not paid and the contract for sale of real property) between the seller and our client.
- We will assist you in setting up a local bank account or provide the details required for transfer of money to the lawyer's account.
- The 2% tax is paid (Montenegro Revenue Office determines the value of the property).
- The documents are submitted to the local land registry department.
- The property is then registered in the buyer's name
